Supervision is available to mental health professionals working toward licensure as well as licensed mental health professionals who are interested in becoming a Registered Play Therapist.

Play Therapy Group Consultation

For groups of 3 or more: $35 per participant.

Training

Available through Family & Children’s Aid

Web-Based- Brain Play: Participants will experience an online workshop that includes a research-based explanation of the neurobiological implications of using expressive and play therapy. Presenter will provide information about the neuroscience behind how play and movement can help heal children ‘from the bottom up’ in regards to brain development. Emphasis will be given on the effects of trauma on the brain and how it affects play. Examples of play activities will be provided so that participants will immediately be able to incorporate these methods into their practice.

Participants will experience an experiential workshop that includes a research-based explanation of the neurobiological implications of using expressive therapies. Through hands-on demonstrations of play activities, participants will immediately be able to incorporate these methods into their practice. Presenters will provide information about the neuroscience behind how play and movement can help heal children ‘from the bottom up’ in regards to brain development.

Objectives:

  • Break down how adverse childhood experiences affect brain development, emotion regulation & cognition.
  • Explain the neuroscience behind how those who have experienced trauma process information.
  • Understand how play can reframe trauma experiences, increase self-regulation and connect to a mind-body awareness.
  • Demonstrate how to implement a variety of tools in practice through hands-on interactive experiences.
